Not that you can tell at all, but I wrote this song when I
was listening to a combination of Paramore and Demi Lovato. It's about the inability to let go of a relationship and the
realization that you're the only one with that problem.
I had the verses and the chorus
of this song for weeks before I came up with a bridge. Then, on a walk through the city at 1:00 in the morning, the right
words came. I wrote them in a text message to myself, which is saying something, because I hate text messages.
My best friend calls this "the candle song" after my favorite line therein; "I'm the candle you lit at both ends
and I'm burning."
